Less than a month is left for the Haryana Assembly elections. All political parties are putting in their best efforts to woo voters. However, the parties have not yet shown clarity regarding the names of the candidates. All the parties are still holding meetings to finalise the names of the candidates.
Status of candidates in Congress:
According to the information received about Congress, Haryana Congress has so far decided the names of candidates on only half the seats. The names of candidates have not been decided on 39 seats yet. According to sources, 27 out of the current 28 MLAs are likely to be given tickets again.
Committee formed to discuss pending seats:
Discussions are going on about the seats on which the Congress has not finalized the names. For this, a committee has been formed, which will brainstorm to decide the names from 5 September 2024. This committee includes Ajay Maken, TS Singh Deo, Madhusudan Mistry, Manikam Tagore, Jignesh Mevani and Srinivas.
There is a lot of confusion in BJP regarding the ticket.
Like the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also in a dilemma regarding tickets. The BJP has also not announced the name of the candidate for any seat in Haryana yet. The BJP is facing difficulty in finalizing tickets in many districts of Haryana. Especially in areas like Ahirwal, GT Belt and Sirsa Belt, brainstorming is going on regarding tickets.
New dates for polling and counting:
According to the new schedule of the Election Commission, the date of voting for the assembly elections in Haryana will now be October 5, 2024 instead of October 1. Along with this, the date of counting has also changed. Now the counting of votes will take place on October 8, 2024 instead of October 4.
