Panaji: Resort politics has started in Goa before the election results are out. Congress candidates have been accommodated in a resort in Goa. No candidate is allowed to go outside the resort. Regarding this, Goa CM Pramod Sawat has said that, after the election results in Goa, the Congress is afraid of the breakup of the MLAs. Congress has sent its candidates to the resort even before the results are out.

It is worth noting that, last time in the Goa Assembly elections, the Congress had emerged as the single largest party, but the BJP had won in forming the government. In such a situation, Congress does not want to repeat any previous mistake this time. Congress says that BJP can go to any extent, but this time not a single Congress MLA will leave his party. Goa Congress unit general secretary Sunil Kauthankar said the candidates have voluntarily decided to stick together.

While many veteran leaders from other states were in the coastal state to manage the post-poll scenario. Sunil Kauthankar further said that, we have not forced any candidate to stay (at the resort). They voluntarily decided to stay together, it is not fair to say that we are holding onto our leaders as leaders have come from other states also.
