Panaji: The swearing-in ceremony of Goa CM Pramod Sawant has been held at The Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Panaji. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami and Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai have also reached Goa for the ceremony. PM Narendra Modi has also arrived in Panaji to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

The BJP has won 20 of the 40 seats in the recently held assembly elections. Along with Pramod, It is being told that Along with Pramod, Vishwajit Rane, Mauvin Godinho,  Nilesh Cabral, Subhash Shirodkar, Rohan Khaunte, Atanasio Monserrate and Govind Gaude will also take the oath. It is also being told that former Chief Minister Ravi Naik, who left the Congress and joined the BJP, may also be made a minister. Naik comes from the Bhandari community. It is the largest Hindu community in Goa, which falls in the OBC category.

Former revenue minister Jennifer Monzaret or her husband and Panaji MLA Atenazio Mongerett may also find a place in Pramod Sawant's cabinet. Independent MLA Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco may also be given a ministerial berth. Lourenco had extended support to the BJP after winning the Curtorim seat.
