Panaji: Voting is being held in 3 states today. Let me tell you that the second phase of voting is going on today. In Uttar Pradesh, polling for the second phase of assembly elections in the state, apart from 55 seats of the state, is going to the polls on Monday in all the assembly seats of Goa and Uttarakhand. The list includes Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan among the prominent candidates. Let me tell you all that today strict security arrangements have been made in Goa for the elections. Let us also tell you that polling for 40 seats of goa assembly is taking place today i.e. on Monday.
In fact, 301 candidates are in the fray for these seats. According to PTI, an election official in Goa said that gloves will be provided to voters at polling stations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He said more than 100 women polling stations have been set up in the state for the convenience of women voters. Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai and his wife Reetha Sreedharan cast their votes at polling station number 15 in the Talegaon assembly constituency. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called me in the morning and wished me well. We are hopeful that the BJP will form the government in Goa again. I am confident that we will get more than 22 seats this time. This time also people will vote for the BJP.''
On the other hand, Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said after casting his vote, "The people of Goa are very cooperative. There is no major political conflict. Elections will be free and fair. The Election Commission and all political parties deserve praise. I hope more people will come to the polling stations this year.'' At the same time, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, "Both Congress leaders Michael Lobo and Utpal Parrikar will not win the elections. Definitely, the BJP government is being formed. We don't have to talk to anyone to form the government. We will get a full majority government.''
