As the final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections approaches, liquor shops and licensed premises in Delhi, Faridabad, and Gurgaon will be closed for 48 hours. The shutdown will begin at 6 PM on May 23 and last until 6 PM on May 25. Additionally, these areas will also observe a dry day on June 4, the day the election results are announced.

Delhi's Dry Days
In Delhi, all liquor outlets and licensed establishments will cease operations from 6 PM on May 23 to 6 PM on May 25, as mandated by the excise department. Furthermore, there will be no liquor sales on June 4, the day votes are counted for the Lok Sabha elections.

Haryana's Dry Days
In Gurgaon, which will vote on May 25, the district administration has directed all liquor stores to remain closed for 48 hours leading up to the election. Sales will also be halted on June 4, the vote counting day. Recently, the Gurugram district administration confiscated illegal liquor worth ₹61 lakhs, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

Ensuring Fair Elections
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has enforced these dry days to ensure free and fair voting in the cities participating in the elections.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 6
On May 25, a total of 58 constituencies across eight states and union territories will vote. Polling will begin at 7 AM and end at 6 PM. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4, with results announced shortly thereafter.
