LUCKNOW: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Saturday accused the Congress of trying to 'make a mockery' of Hindu faith by proposing to ban Bajrang Dal, which the majority community will not tolerate and accept.
He also said that people who oppose "Ek Bharat, Sreshtha Bharat" (One India, Great India) support "anti-national" groups like the "Popular Front of India" (PFI).
At a public event in Koppa, in the Chikkamagaluru district of election-bound Karnataka, Yogi Adityanath, who is also the head priest of Gorakhnath Math, claimed to have travelled from the land of Rama in Uttar Pradesh to the region of Hanuman. The two States are "materialising" the idea of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" and "underscoring the fact that they are integrally one," he remarked.
"Those who don't like 'Ek Bharat, Sreshth Bharat' somewhere support anti-social and anti-national organisations like PFI on the one hand and want to outlaw groups that are dedicated to nationalism and charitable work on the other. Congress is trying to make fun of Hinduism by outlawing the Bajrang Dal. The Hindu community would not put up with it or accept it, said the BJP leader.
Adityanath invited the throng to repeat after him, "Jaikaara Veer Bajrangi, Har Har Mahadev," noting that the "power of a slogan" had helped to resolve the Ram temple dispute at Ayodhya, which had been ongoing for more than 500 years.
The audience complied as Yogi Adityanath hoisted the slogan. Then, he urged those present to spread this message throughout society so that PFI supporters will "bite the dust" "The PFI was encouraged when the Congress and the JD(S) government was in power in Karnataka," he asserted.

The party stated: "We believe that individuals and groups, such as Bajrang Dal, PFI, or those that promote hostility or intolerance, whether among majority or minority communities, cannot violate the law and the Constitution. As required by law, we will take decisive action, including banning such entities.
