A person gets the most comfort while sleeping on his bed, especially when it is time to relax after a tiring day. But have you ever thought that the bed on which you are sleeping can be dirtier than the toilet? Yes, there may be millions of bacteria, germs and fungus present on your bed, sheets and pillow, which can be harmful for your health. Therefore, you need to pay special attention to how often your bed is being cleaned.

Don't make it a habit to keep the bedsheet down.
Many people throw the bedsheets or pillow covers anywhere or pull the bedsheet down from the bed and keep it on the floor. This is a big mistake because doing so causes millions of bacteria to grow in the sheets. According to research, bedsheets can have more bacteria than toilet seats. This can not only affect your health but can also cause allergies and skin problems.

Shocking results found in the study:
A recent study found that more than 1 crore bacteria were found in 4 week old bedsheets and pillow covers. Similarly, 3 week old bedsheets may contain 90 lakh bacteria, 2 week old bedsheets may contain 50 lakh bacteria and 1 week old bedsheet may contain 45 lakh bacteria. This means that the older your bedsheets and pillows get, the number of bacteria in them starts increasing rapidly.

Even more dirt on the pillow
Your pillow is dirtier than the bedsheet. Because our hair, face and dead skin come in direct contact with the pillow, due to which sweat and dirt accumulate on the pillow. A 4 week old pillow can have 12 million bacteria, while 50 lakh bacteria can be found in a 1 week old pillow.
