Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule on Monday clarified that there is no internal confusion regarding the seat-sharing issue for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She mentioned that many aspects of seat-sharing were clarified in a recent meeting between Sonia Gandhi, Uddhav Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar. The ongoing tug-of-war between Congress and Shiv Sena over seat-sharing has sparked discussions, but Sule emphasized that there is no confusion internally.

"There is no confusion internally. There was a meeting between Sonia Gandhi, Uddhav Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar in Delhi 15 days ago. A lot of things about seat sharing were clarified in that meeting. The information will be officially announced in the next 8-10 days," Sule told reporters on Monday.

She acknowledged that there might be ups and downs in the seat-sharing formula due to the alliance, but everything will be officially revealed soon. When asked about Prakash Ambedkar's role in the INDIA bloc, she stated that he would play a significant role in the alliance.

Former Lok Sabha MP Prakash Ambedkar, in a letter to Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, and Uddhav Thackeray, expressed his interest in joining the MVA and INDIA alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Ambedkar proposed a "12+12+12+12 formula" for equal seat sharing among the MVA parties – Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), Nationalist Congress Party, Indian National Congress, and VBA (Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi).

While the Shiv Sena (UBT) demanded 23 seats out of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, Congress responded that seat-sharing is a complex subject that requires careful consideration. The demand for 23 seats by Shiv Sena has added to the ongoing discussions within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance.
