DELHI : Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's lawyer has clarified that Reddy was not involved in sharing a controversial video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which was allegedly doctored to show Shah promising to scrap SC, ST, and OBC reservations. The lawyer, who appeared before the Delhi Police following a summons in connection with the case, stated that the video was not shared from Reddy's official account and requested the police to withdraw the notice issued to Reddy.

Reddy accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of retaliating against him for questioning the BJP's stance on reservations, claiming the two leaders adopted a "vengeful attitude" and lodged a case against him. The police are also investigating other opposition leaders for allegedly sharing the same video, with several of them receiving notices.

The Delhi Police is reportedly close to identifying the creator of the video, which the BJP claims was an edited version of an old clip of Amit Shah discussing the removal of a four percent "unconstitutional" reservation for Muslims in Telangana. Social media platform X withheld the Jharkhand Congress's account, which shared the video, as police work to identify those who uploaded and shared the footage.
