Hyderabad, Telangana - In a somber turn of events, Kunja Satyavathi, a former Bhadrachalam MLA and distinguished member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, breathed her last in the early hours of Monday. Her demise occurred as she was being rushed to the hospital by her family, grappling with severe chest pain.

Kunja Satyavathi's political journey was marked by a transition from the Congress party, under whose banner she secured her seat as an MLA from 2009 to 2014, to the Bharatiya Janata Party. During her tenure, she made significant contributions to various developmental initiatives, leaving a lasting impact on her constituency.

Late in the previous evening, the former MLA experienced intense chest discomfort, prompting an immediate transfer to the hospital. Notably, her initial victory in 2009 came as a Congress candidate, contesting against Sunnam Rajaiah of the CPM.

In the subsequent 2014 elections, Satyavathi again contested under the Congress banner but was unable to secure the seat, facing defeat against the formidable Sunnam Rajaiah. Following this setback, she transitioned her political allegiance to the BJP, where she participated in the 2018 elections as a candidate, albeit unsuccessfully.

The untimely passing of Kunja Satyavathi has left a vacancy in the BJP's representation for the Bhadrachalam seat, necessitating the party to find a new candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections. It is worth mentioning that her political journey commenced with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), known as CPM.

The news of Kunja Satyavathi's demise has sparked an outpouring of condolences from numerous notable leaders. Union Minister and Telangana BJP Chief, Kishan Reddy, along with Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Revanth Reddy, and other prominent figures, have expressed their grief and sympathy at her passing.
