Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached out to Sharad Pawar and his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), inviting them to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) following the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking at a rally in Maharashtra's Nandurbar, Modi urged Pawar and the NCP to consider aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) instead of merging with the Congress.

Addressing the crowd, Modi referenced the political landscape, hinting at potential alliances and mergers post-elections. Without explicitly naming Sharad Pawar, he highlighted the concerns of a seasoned leader after polling in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat. Pawar had previously expressed apprehensions about smaller parties merging with the Congress for survival.

Modi also accused the Congress of undermining Hindu faith, citing purported remarks made to the US by a prominent figure within the party. He dismissed alleged threats from certain quarters, maintaining his stance against the exploitation of religious sentiments for political gain.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized his commitment to ensuring that reservations for Dalits, adivasis, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) are not extended to Muslims based solely on religious grounds.

The invitation extended to Sharad Pawar and the NCP signals a potential realignment in Maharashtra's political landscape, with Modi seeking to bolster the NDA's strength in the region.
