Indore: After laying the Narmada line on the bypass of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, its test has been completed by the Municipal Corporation. Now the work of laying the Narmada line to the houses is left, which may take time up to November. Recently, the corporation had also completed the third phase of the line test between Bichauli to Kanadia Junction in the last phase. Now all the work related to laying and testing the line between Rau junction to MR-10 junction of bypass has been completed.
The corporation started the laying of the line in February-18 under the AMRUT scheme. This work was completed in more than two years. The corporation has spent Rs 160 crore on this ambitious project. It is being told that by the end of the year, Jayaprada distribution system will be ready from different tanks. After this, the Narmada water will reach the houses of colonies located around the bypass.
According to sources, the contractor company along with the laying of the line also carried out its testing work and the line is ready for use after the completion of testing of the 3.50 km long line in the final phase. A 1500 mm diameter line has been laid between Rau to Bichauli Junction in 1900 and beyond. About 23.80 km in length has been laid under the project. Out of this, the water of Narmada has reached from Rau to Kanadia Junction and tanks are being filled.
