Nagpur: On Thursday, as the Congress celebrated its 139th Foundation Day, party chief Mallikarjun Kharge reiterated an "unwavering" commitment to safeguard the Constitution and uphold democratic values. After hoisting the party flag at the Congress headquarters, Kharge emphasized sending a nationwide message that the Congress will steadfastly adhere to its ideology. Top Congress leaders participated in the flag-hoisting ceremony before heading to Nagpur for a rally to launch the 2024 national poll campaign.
Rahul Gandhi, another prominent Congress leader, who is set to embark on the 6,200km-long Bharat Nyay Yatra from the northeastern tip to the western shore of India on January 14, underscored that the Congress is rooted in truth and non-violence, with pillars of love, brotherhood, respect, and equality, all under the roof of patriotism. In a post on X, he expressed pride in being a part of such an organization, extending heartfelt wishes to leaders, officials, supporters, and fellow Congress workers on Congress Foundation Day.
Kharge emphasized that the Congress symbolizes the people and is synonymous with struggle, compassion, freedom, justice, and equality. On the solemn occasion of Congress Foundation Day, Kharge stated on X, "we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to protect the Constitution of India and uphold the values of Democracy."
