Bhopal: The dual form of weather has created havoc across the country. Somewhere there is a flood-like situation due to excess rainfall, then at some places people are facing water shortage. In such a situation, the farmers of the country have been the most affected. Due to this, cases of farmer suicides have also started coming up. One such case has come to light from Niwari district of Madhya Pradesh, where a farmer has committed suicide.
Actually, the case is about Chandeli Toriya, about 20 km from Niwari district headquarters, where a 60-year-old farmer hanged himself on his farm on Friday due to crop failure allegedly. According to a report by PTI, while giving information, Prithipur Police Station incharge Narendra Tripathi has told that the dead body of a farmer named Pyarelal Yadav was found hanging on a tree on his farm in the village. The son of the farmer told that our crop of urad, sesame and groundnut sown in about 15 acres was ruined due to excess rainfall, due to which my father was under stress.
He said that there was also a ten-year old bank loan of Rs 90,000 on the family. Along with this, paying huge amount of electricity bill was also a reason for his concern. He was expected to get one and a half lakh rupees from this crop, which could not be completed due to the destruction of the crop. According to the report, the station in-charge Tripathi told that the matter is being investigated. Only then will the true cause of suicide be known.
