Ranchi: Amidst the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issuing a fresh summons to Chief Minister Hemant Soren to join the investigation in the money laundering case, he suddenly left for Delhi on Saturday. Speculations regarding his sudden visit are gaining momentum. His Delhi visit came in the backdrop of the ED asking him whether he was going to appear for questioning on January 29 or January 31.
An official said on the condition of anonymity, "There was no plan for the trip." This plan was also suddenly made after the new summons was issued by ED. He has to attend a program in Chaibasa on 29th January, Palamu on 30th January and Giridih on 31st January.
A source has said that he has gone to Delhi for legal consultation. However, this could not be confirmed from the CM office. Officials have said that he has left for Delhi. The source has said that as far as the information is available, the CM is going to return on Sunday. Now news is coming that earlier on January 20, the ED team had interrogated Chief Minister Soren at his official residence in Jharkhand. For the first time, ED had answered questions from the Chief Minister amidst tight security. This ED interrogation lasted for about 7 hours. It is also being said that he may be arrested, however till now no proper news regarding this has come to the fore.
