On Monday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi embarked on a visit to poll-bound Mizoram after a brief stopover in Tripura.
"Rahul Gandhi arrived in Mizoram from Delhi via a chartered flight. After a brief meeting with party leaders at the airport lounge, he headed to Aizwal for the election campaign in Mizoram," stated Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Sudip Roy Barman in Agartala.
"During the meeting, Rahul ji inquired about the situation of the people in Tripura and provided organizational recommendations. He will visit the state after the conclusion of the assembly elections in five states - Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan," he explained.
In Aizawl, Rahul Gandhi initiated a padyatra that drew enthusiastic crowds.
Upon arriving in Mizoram's capital, the Congress leader began his march from Chanmari junction, traversing the city's winding streets while being greeted by Congress supporters waving party flags. He waved at people on both sides, engaged in handshakes, and interacted with those who came to meet him.
His walk was slated to culminate at Raj Bhavan, covering a distance of approximately 4-5 kilometers, where he would address a rally near the governor's residence.
