The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday recovered 10 packets of suspected narcotics from an island off the Jakhau coast in Gujarat's Kutch district. The total weight of these packets is more than 12 kg. With this recovery, the BSF has recovered a total of 272 packets since June this year, each of which weighed more than one kilogram.
BSF's search operation continues BSF said in an official statement that their patrol team was patrolling an island off the Jakhau coast when they found these suspicious packets. The packets are believed to contain narcotics weighing about 12.40 kg.
Packets are being thrown into the sea to avoid smugglers According to the BSF, 272 such packets have been recovered during searches in different islands off the Jakhau coast since June 2024. These packets may contain narcotics, which international smugglers throw into the sea for fear of getting caught.
After this recovery, the BSF has further intensified the search operation in the islands and bays around Jakhau. Officials believe that this operation is important to stop smuggling and curb criminals.
