Kolkata: Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda reached Koklatta in the early hours of Tuesday, a party leader said. Their visit focuses on evaluating West Bengal's readiness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections next year, as confirmed by a party representative.

Touching down at Kolkata airport around 12:45 am, Shah and Nadda have a packed schedule ahead, including multiple organizational meetings throughout the day.

BJP MLA Manoj Tigga highlighted the initiation of the party's groundwork for the Parliamentary elections.

"Our national leaders namely, the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, and Party President—will continue visiting the state, with more tours expected in the near future," Tigga shared with journalists at the airport.

Welcoming Shah and Nadda were BJP West Bengal President Sukanta Majumdar, Assembly's Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, and MP Dilip Ghosh, among other state leaders.

The duo will start their Tuesday morning visiting Gurudwara Bara Sikh Sangat and the Kalighat temple. Subsequently, they will engage in a series of meetings with state officials and frontal organizations, assessing the party's strength in anticipation of the upcoming elections.

Wrapping up their itinerary, the senior BJP leaders will take part in a private event at the National Library before heading back to New Delhi in the evening, as stated by Tigga.
