Lucknow: SP has suffered a major setback in the elections for 10 Rajya Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. Many Samajwadi Party MLAs, including Chief Whip Manoj Pandey, either voted in favor of the ruling BJP candidate or abstained from voting. Bharatiya Janata Party claims that at least 10 MLAs of Samajwadi Party will do cross voting. Along with Samajwadi Party, names of MLAs who have cross-voted have also been revealed. After cross voting, Samajwadi Party MLAs also met Chief Minister Yogi.
Now the statement of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has come regarding this. Akhilesh has said that pressure is put on everyone. Bharatiya Janata Party will adopt any trick to win. He said that not everyone has the courage to stand against the government. It takes courage to vote against the government. Referring to the Chandigarh Mayor election, he said that if videography had not been done there, the dishonesty of the Bharatiya Janata Party would not have been exposed. Akhilesh said that as far as Uttar Pradesh is concerned, those who have gone may not have had the courage to stand against the government.
He said that the people of Uttar Pradesh are watching everything. Now we are going for Lok Sabha elections. Akhilesh said that BJP will not be able to win the elections among the people. It is noteworthy that a day before the Rajya Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh had given a dinner. 8 MLAs including the Chief Whip of Samajwadi Party did not attend this dinner. Since then, speculations started about cross voting of Samajwadi Party MLAs. So far, 7 MLAs including Samajwadi Party's Manoj Pandey, Pawan Pandey, Rakesh Pratap Singh, Abhay Singh, Ashutosh Maurya have cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections.
