Gradually their mental and physical abilities start weakening, which has a bad effect on the quality of life.

How many Alzheimer's patients are there in the world?

Alzheimer's is a serious neurodegenerative disease in which brain cells slowly start to get destroyed. Around 55 million people around the world are suffering from problems like Alzheimer's and related dementia. More than 10 million new cases are reported every year, which shows the seriousness of this disease.

How dangerous is Alzheimer's?

In Alzheimer's disease, the size of the brain starts shrinking, which causes problems in memory and thinking. It can gradually take the form of serious problems like dementia. Some medicines are available to control its initial symptoms, but it has not been possible to cure it completely till now.

Indian scientists found a new treatment for Alzheimer's

Scientists at Pune-based Agharkar Research Center have made a new discovery for the treatment of Alzheimer's. Scientists Prasad Kulkarni and Vinod Ugale have prepared some new molecules, which can prove helpful in the treatment of this disease. Synthetic and computational methods have been used to prepare these molecules. According to research, these molecules are non-toxic and are effective against the cholinesterase enzyme. Through this, such medicines can be made in the future, which will help in controlling Alzheimer's.

Lifestyle changes to prevent Alzheimer's

According to a study conducted in Australia, to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's, patients should pay attention to their diet and lifestyle. Activities like regular exercise, participation in social activities, studies, dance, sports, and playing musical instruments keep the brain active.
