Agartala: In Tripura's Dhalai district, a case of thrashing to death of a 5-year-old girl accused of raping has come to light. It is being told that a group of women tied the accused to a tree and beat him till he died. The deceased had recently come out after serving 8 years in jail in a murder case. The incident is being told of 15 March 2022 (Tuesday).

According to media reports, the age of the deceased is 46 years. He was accused of raping a 5-year-old girl by taking her to the forest. The girl had gone to a religious program at night with her mother. From there, the accused allegedly picked her up and took her to the forest and raped her. Local people reached the spot after hearing the screams of the girl. He got the girl admitted to the hospital. The girl was last seen with the deceased. It is being told that later the girl had also told the name of the accused.

The victim's family had blocked the Gandachera-Amarpur highway demanding the arrest of the accused of rape. After this, the accused of rape was caught by the local women in a nearby village. He tied him to a tree and beat him. The video of this incident is also becoming fiercely viral on social media. After the beating, he was left on the side of the road. According to the report, so far 3 people have been detained for questioning in connection with the beating. Police is probing the matter.
