Jaipur: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has said that smartphones will be distributed to 40 lakh women in the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan this year. Gehlot said these things while addressing the people on Thursday after observing the inflation relief camp and campaigning organized in Semalpura Gram Panchayat of Chittorgarh. He has said that smart phones equipped with internet facility for three years are going to be provided free of cost to 1.35 crore women in a phased manner by the State Government.
In the first phase of the scheme, smartphones are going to be distributed to 40 lakh women in the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan this year. 3 years internet pack is also going to be given for free in these smartphones. He also claimed that this decision of the state government would give a boost to women empowerment in the state. Gehlot (CM Ashok Gehlot) said that due to the decision of the state government, Rajasthan has emerged as a leading state in the field of education. In the last four years, more than 300 new colleges have been opened in Rajasthan, including 130 women's colleges.
The CM said that the state government has also issued a provision to open a college on the enrollment of 500 girl students in schools in the state. Today there are 91 universities operating in the state. Gehlot has further said that relief from inflation has also started being provided to the common man through inflation relief camps. Every section is getting benefited from the schemes of the state government. It is necessary for all the eligible people to come to the camps and take advantage of their rights.
Gehlot has said that the state government is committed to provide maximum relief to the people suffering from inflation by connecting them with public welfare schemes. Meanwhile, the CM met the beneficiaries in the inflation relief camp and CM guarantee cards are also going to be distributed to them. He has also made the beneficiaries aware about the benefits of the schemes run by the state government in the public interest.
Along with this, Chief Minister Gehlot assured that there will be no shortage of resources in running public welfare schemes run in the interest of the common man. Under the Chief Minister Gas Cylinder Scheme, gas cylinders are going to be given to Ujjwala and BPL families for Rs.500.
