New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a significant initiative from December 1 to 20, aiming to gauge public sentiment regarding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's potential resignation in the event of his arrest. Gopal Rai, a prominent figure within the party, disclosed plans for a massive signature drive during a press conference today, alongside party MP Raghav Chadha.

Rai asserted that the BJP had orchestrated a purported conspiracy to implicate Kejriwal in a false liquor scam case, aiming to dismantle the Aam Aadmi Party. Under the 'Mai Bhi Kejriwal' campaign set to commence this Friday, AAP volunteers will circulate pamphlets across all 2,600 polling stations in the city to collect public opinions on whether Kejriwal should step down if arrested.

Highlighting Kejriwal's consultations with AAP MLAs and councillors, Rai stated a consensus had emerged suggesting that Kejriwal should continue to govern even if incarcerated. He outlined further plans for the AAP's engagement with the public, including 'Jan Samvad' sessions in each ward from December 21 to 24. These sessions will cover discussions on the alleged liquor scam and the BJP's purported scheme to arrest Kejriwal, seeking opinions on his potential resignation.

Earlier in the month, the Enforcement Directorate had summoned Kejriwal for interrogation concerning a money laundering case related to an alleged excise policy scam. Kejriwal, however, abstained from appearing and urged the Directorate to retract its notice, labeling it as "illegal and politically motivated".
