Dehradun: A Hindu girl was allegedly raped in Uttarakhand's capital Dehradun. A Delhi-based woman living with her live-in partner has filed a case against the accused for rape, three abortions, and forcing her to convert. The victim says that the accused also forced her to undergo an abortion twice and is now pressuring her to have an abortion for the third time.
Inspector Suryabhushan Singh Negi said that the woman from Delhi had been living in a live-in relationship with Naushad Qureshi in Dehradun for about one and a half years. The woman lodged a written complaint at Patel Nagar police station on Thursday, alleging that Naushad kept her with her on the pretext of marriage. He used to refuse when the victim asks for marriage. He beat her and forcibly made physical relations. During this time, he also forcibly aborted the victim twice. The victim said that when she went to the accused's house, her brother Shahnawaz and father Zahir Qureshi also abused and drove her away. The victim alleged that Naushad was constantly pressuring her to become a Muslim.
After this, the Doon police registered a case against the three accused. Along with this, the main accused Naushad has been arrested near Lalpul on Friday. ISBT outpost in-charge Sanjeet Kumar said that the victim is about three months pregnant.
