Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting with senior officials at the Chief Minister's residence on Thursday, issuing directives to improve the state's infrastructure and public services. He emphasized that all roads in Uttarakhand should be made pothole-free within a month after the monsoon season ends.
CM Dhami instructed officials to expedite all construction work post-monsoon, stressing the importance of maintaining both quality and speed. In anticipation of the upcoming 'Kanwar' fair, he also called for special attention to be paid to the cleanliness of the ghats. The Chief Minister directed that construction work in mountainous areas should be carried out according to their carrying capacity. He also stressed the need to improve the parking systems at tourist locations by identifying vacant spaces and providing adequate parking facilities.
Additionally, CM Dhami highlighted the importance of maintaining government guest houses, ensuring they are well-kept and offer better facilities for guests. He also emphasized the need to increase GST collection in the state and prevent GST evasion, suggesting a campaign to raise awareness about GST registration among business owners. The promotion of digital payments was also encouraged.
Earlier, on Wednesday, CM Dhami issued guidelines to senior officials on addressing waterlogging, maintaining cleanliness, and preventing diseases such as dengue and malaria. According to an official statement from the Chief Minister's office, he directed all Municipal Commissioners and Executive Officers to visit their respective areas twice daily to conduct on-site inspections and ensure proper measures are taken for disease prevention and cleanliness during the monsoon season.
