Lucknow: A cleric lost his life in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh for wanting to perform his third nikah. When marriage insisted, the first wife attacked the maulvi's private part with a wheel which led to life of maulvi. Police have arrested the maulvi's wife on charges of murder. The incident took place in Shikarpur village under Bhorakala police station area of Muzaffarnagar.
Bhorakala Saheb Jitendra Tewatia said that on Wednesday (June 23, 2021), it was learnt that a middle-aged man had died under suspicious circumstances. He is being buried by his family members. Police reached there and sent the body of the deceased for postmortem where injury marks on his body and serious injuries in the private part were reported. The deceased was identified as advocate Ahmed who was a cleric in a mosque in Bhoura Khurd village. Police questioned the deceased's first wife Hazra who confessed to the murder.
Hazra told police that the deceased cleric Advocate Ahmed had already conducted two nikahs. The first wife was Hazra. The two had 5 daughters, one of whom was not married. The maulvi also performed another nikah, but the second wife left him within six months. Hazra told police that the maulvi was talking about the nikah for the third time, while Hazra wanted his unmarried daughter to be married first. The two got into an argument on Wednesday over the same issue. Hazra confessed to assaulting the maulvi and stabbing his private part before the police. Police arrested Hazra along with the knife used in the murder and sent him to jail.
