Lucknow: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by five men in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, police said on Saturday. Police have registered a case in this regard. According to the police, the woman is having a property dispute with the accused and both parties are being tried in court. Based on the woman's complaint, the police have registered an FIR against 5 people, out of which four have been detained.
According to the report, the accused named in the FIR are Dinu, Shahrukh, Javed, Dhola and Aurangzeb. Ghaziabad Police has said that, at around 3:30 am on October 18, the police station Nandgram police received information through UP-112 that a woman was lying on Ashram Road, after which the police immediately reached the spot and took the woman to the hospital. According to Ghaziabad police, "The woman has told that a day ago she had gone to her brother's place in Ghaziabad for a birthday program when the brother dropped her back, she was taken away by some people who are already familiar with her. The woman said that they were 5 people, and all of them raped her.''
Police have registered an FIR on the complaint of the woman's brother and detained 4 people. According to police, the woman is a resident of Delhi and is undergoing treatment at GTB Hospital. Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal tweeted, "The Delhi girl was returning from Ghaziabad at night when she was forcibly picked up in a car. Five men raped her for two days and inserted rods into her private parts. Even when she was found in a roadside sack, the rod was inside her. Fighting for life in the hospital. Notice issued to SSP Ghaziabad!"
