Lucknow: A Sensational murder case has been reported from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur. The Imam, who killed his pregnant wife at a mosque located on 62 Foota Road in the Qutubsher police station area here, has been arrested. Qutubsher police station in-charge Piyush Dixit said that the imam of the mosque, Usman's father Hussain, was arrested by the police from near the mosque on Sunday (May 22, 2022) afternoon.
The accused has confessed to his crime. Usman told the police that his wife Hina was eight months pregnant. He wanted a son and so he found out from his 'sorcery' what was in his wife's womb. When he found out that she had a daughter in her womb, she asked Hina to abort her several times, but she did not agree. He then pushed his wife from the roof of the mosque on May 12 and killed her. Sarahanpur police on Sunday exhumed the woman's body from the grave and sent her for postmortem.
Police said Hina died on the spot due to falling from the mosque. After this, the Imam told Hina's mother Khurshida about her death by giving her an excuse for the process of 'witchcraft'. After which Khurshida did not complain about her anywhere and had buried the body. However, when she came to know that Usman was her daughter's killer, Khurshida (Hina's mother) filed a murder case against Usman and his two other accomplices. When the police investigated the case, Usman was found guilty.
Usman is originally a resident of Bandarjud Mujahidpur Satiwala district Haridwar, Uttarakhand. He was married to Hina 10 years ago. The other two partners are being sought. The in-charge of Qutubsher police station said that the post-mortem report has not yet come.
