BASTI: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today, January 18, virtually inaugurated the second phase of the 'Saansad Khel Mahakumbh' being organised in Uttar Pradesh' Basti district.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the "Khel Mahakumbh" is a creative programme that gives young people in Basti and the surrounding districts a chance to show off their sporting prowess and inspires them to pursue it as a career.
On January 18, 2023 at 1 PM via video conference, Prime Minister Modi will officially launch the second phase of "Saansad Khel Mahakumbh 2022-23," which is being organised in the Basti district.
The 'Saansad Khel Mahakumbh' is being organised in Basti District by Lok Sabha MP from Basti, Harish Dwivedi since 2021.
The two phases of "Saansad Khel Mahakumbh 2022-23" are being organised. The first phase took place between December 10 and December 16, 2022, while the second phase will take place between January 18 and January 28, 2023.
The Khel Mahakumbh organises various competitions in both indoor and outdoor sports like wrestling, kabaddi, kho kho, basketball, football, hockey, volleyball, handball, chess, carom, badminton, table tennis and so on. Along with this, competitions in painting, rangoli making, essay writing, etc. are also held throughout the event.
It also endeavours to inculcate the thrust of discipline, teamwork, healthy competition, self-confidence and nationalism among the youth of the region, the statement said.
