Jaipur: Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat recently met with Pakistani Hindu refugee families in Bhakar Basti, Punjala, on the evening of March 28. Following the meeting, he addressed the media, launching a strong critique against the Congress party, attributing divisive actions to them.

Shekhawat criticized the Congress for its stance during the debate on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), highlighting their protests and opposition to the legislation. He particularly mentioned former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's rally in Jaipur expressing dissent against the CAA.

Speaking on the issue of overseas citizenship in Parliament, Shekhawat voiced his support for persecuted Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, and Jain communities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for successfully passing the CAA in Parliament.

Earlier on March 19, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory in Rajasthan, aiming for success in all 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Addressing a cluster meeting for various constituencies, Shekhawat underscored the party's commitment to achieve Prime Minister Modi's ambitious goal of surpassing the 400-seat mark nationally.

Asserting the BJP's determination, Shekhawat emphasized the significance of the party's performance in the Marwar region and rallied party workers to secure a resounding victory.

Rajasthan, with its 25 parliamentary constituencies, will vote in two phases. The first phase of polling on April 19 will cover 12 seats, while the remaining 13 seats will go to polls in the second phase on April 26.

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to commence on April 19, will be conducted in seven phases. With nearly 97 crore eligible voters, the election will witness the participation of a significant portion of the electorate. Vote counting is slated for June 4.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 303 seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) managed to secure only 52 seats. Similarly, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 282 seats, with the INC trailing behind with 44 seats.
