Kerala: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar accused the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) of facilitating terrorism, stating that they have created favorable conditions for terrorist groups in the state. Speaking at a large BJP rally in Kozhikode, Chandrasekhar launched a scathing attack on both political parties, alleging that their policies have paved the way for religious terrorism, posing a significant threat to Kerala's stability and safety.
During the rally on December 2, Chandrasekhar blamed the ruling CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) for supporting terrorism through their governance strategies. He accused them of fostering an environment conducive to terrorism while addressing a fervent gathering alongside State BJP president K Surendran.
Highlighting the lack of job opportunities for Kerala's youth and contrasting it with neighboring states, Chandrasekhar pointed fingers at the Kerala Government's policies, claiming they've contributed to the perception of state-sponsored terrorism. He criticized political parties like Congress, CPM, and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) for purportedly supporting Hamas representatives, terming it as encouragement for terrorism.
Moreover, Chandrasekhar stressed concerns about limitations on freedom of expression within the constitutional framework, particularly regarding issues hindering national progress and vulnerability to terrorism. He highlighted the Union Government's ongoing efforts over nine years to combat terrorism at its core.
The rally, attended by thousands, served as a response to previous rallies by political opponents supporting Palestine, which Chandrasekhar labeled as a veiled endorsement of Hamas terrorists.
Separately, K Surendran accused the Kerala government of exploiting the populace economically. He raised issues regarding land title deeds from 1986, alleging governmental misappropriation through manipulated registration prices leading to seizure notices. Surendran promised legal and political action against this exploitation. Additionally, he accused the government of withholding widow pensions from approximately 30,000 eligible recipients, citing unnecessary documentation requirements as a means to deny them their rightful entitlements.
