Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a mega reward amount of Rs 50,000 each to the artists of Uttarakhand tableau which was awarded the top prize at this year's Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path.
During the 74th Republic Day parade on January 26, Uttarakhand's "Manskhand" tableau highlighted sacred locations and the state's forward-moving developments. Dhami declared that each artist who contributed to the tableau would receive Rs 50,000.
The Uttarakhand tableau taking first place on the occasion of Republic Day "has been acknowledged in the country and the world for the rich folk culture and religious history of the state," the CM said.
An official statement says that the chief minister presented the prize to the tableau's painters and team leader, Joint Director of Information KS Chauhan, when they visited Dhammi at his home on Wednesday.
"The Chief Minister informed about the honour for the state on Uttarakhand obtaining the first prize for the Manaskhand tableau.", the statemnt read.
The top prize trophy was also given out by Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari in the Chief Minister's Camp Office at his residence.
The tableau on Manaskhand was suggested after the guidance of Chief Minister Dhami, it said.
