Ujjain: Local authorities in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, are set to demolish the 'illegal' residence of an auto driver, Bharat Soni, who was arrested in connection with the rape of a 12-year-old girl. Sources indicate that the demolition is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, as Soni's house has been identified as an unauthorized structure built on government-owned land.

The arrest of Bharat Soni occurred three days after the distressing discovery of a 12-year-old girl walking injured and semi-naked in the streets of Ujjain. The girl had covered a distance of over 8 kilometers while desperately seeking help. Subsequent medical examinations confirmed that she had been subjected to sexual assault. Raju Soni, the father of the accused, expressed his strong stance against such heinous crimes, emphasizing the need for severe punishment for those found guilty. He stated, "If my child had been in the victim's place, I would have said the same thing. Those who commit such crimes do not deserve to live. Whether it's my child or anyone else's, anyone who commits such a crime should be hanged or shot."

Bharat Soni's attempt to evade authorities after his arrest led to injuries to his arms and legs as he tried to flee the scene of the crime. A police official confirmed this detail, underscoring the seriousness of the case and the efforts to bring the perpetrator to justice.
