New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two more accused on the charge of violence at Jahangirpuri Kushal Chowk on 16 April. Both the accused are brothers in relationship. Both are accused of indulging in violence by joining the mob. The names of the accused have been given as Zafar and Babauddin.
Let us inform that in the Jahangirpuri violence case, the police have arrested 28 adult accused so far, while three minor accused have been sent to the Children's Correctional Home. It is being told that both these accused are acquaintances of Mohd Ansar, the main accused in the violence. They are accused of attacking people involved in the procession with glass bottles on the day of violence. Along with this, these people were also waving swords in front of the people involved in the procession.
At present, there are 9 accused, including Ansar, in the custody of Delhi Police Crime Branch, from whom the police are continuously interrogating and locating the other accused. Let us inform that on April 16, violence broke out between two communities during the procession of Hanuman Jayanti in Jahangirpuri, in which 8 policemen and a local resident were injured. According to the police, stone pelting and arson took place during the clash between the two communities. Some vehicles were also torched.
