Tirumala: V Prashanthi Reddy took charge as the newly appointed Local Advisory Committee (LAC) chairman in New Delhi. After taking charge, Prashant Reddy signed the register in a brief ceremony held at the TTD temple in the national capital, after receiving the appointment letter from the TTD president. YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vemireddy V Prabhakar Reddy, Chennai Local Advisory Committee chief Shekhar Reddy were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, TTD President YV Subba Reddy said, TTD will expand its Hindu religion propaganda activities in a big way in North India. He said that the Delhi LAC will focus on the development of TTD temples in northern India including Jammu, Delhi and Kurukshetra (Haryana). In this regard, he talked about the construction of Sri Venkateswara. Since TTD activities were so far limited to the South and also to the two Telugu speaking states, the Speaker wanted Prashanthi Reddy to lead the New Delhi LAC to support TTD's efforts to spread its activities to North India as well.
TTD has demanded from the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Samiti to allot necessary land to TTD for the construction of a temple or Bhajan Mandir in the holy birth place of Lord Shri Ram. The Speaker also said that under the directions of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, TTD has taken initiative to encourage farmers in Godharita Vyasyam (cow based agriculture). TTD will procure the products from such farmers and use them for its requirement including preparation of Prasad at Tirumala temple. Later he also participated in a Gopuja organized at a temple in New Delhi.
