Kochi: In a tragic incident during a live broadcast of the Krishi Darshan program on Doordarshan, Dr. Ani S Das, a 59-year-old agricultural expert, collapsed and subsequently passed away. Dr. Das, who served as the Managing Director of Kerala Feeds Limited and Head of the Communication Center at Kerala Agricultural University, fainted during the broadcast and was immediately rushed to the medical college. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he could not be revived. Dr. Ani S Das, a native of Kollam, was known for his occasional appearances on the government-run channel.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 pm, marking a somber moment during the live program. Doordarshan officials conveyed their condolences, expressing sorrow over the untimely demise of Dr. Das. This unfortunate event adds to a recent occurrence where Sameer Khandekar, Senior Professor and Dean of Student Welfare at IIT Kanpur, passed away due to a heart attack while delivering a speech on stage.
