New Delhi: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr (Eid), the Delhi Police had deployed a large number of soldiers to avoid any untoward incident in the national capital. In this episode, a company of 60 constables of Delhi Armed Police Battalion (DAP) was suspended on Tuesday (May 3, 2022) for not being present on duty in Old Delhi.

In fact, before Eid, the police had received intelligence that some anti-social elements are active in the areas, which can disturb the peace and order in the national capital. In view of this, the DAP (Delhi Armed Police) battalion was deployed at various places in many sensitive areas to deal with any untoward incident. According to reports, when the inspection was done, not a single jawan of the 3rd Battalion of Delhi Armed Forces was found on duty. After this, the DCP of North Delhi suspended all of them on May 3, 2022.

In the order issued by the DCP, it was written that, 'The company left at 9.15 pm without any notice. He was not on duty point. The staff deployed from 3rd Battalion have been marked as absent and have been suspended. This company was deployed from Vikas Puri area for duty in sensitive areas of Old Delhi. They were ordered to monitor the law and order situation in the area around Sadar Bazar and Red Fort and prevent any untoward incident on Eid.
