Kochi: CM Pinarayi Vijayan has now given a statement in the midst of the ongoing controversy regarding the film 'The Kerala Story' on alleged jihad and terrorism in Kerala. Attacking the filmmakers, he said that by raising the issue of 'love jihad', they are projecting the state as a center of religious fanaticism and furthering the propaganda of the RSS. Actually ever since the teaser of 'The Kerala Story' has been released, since then the opponents are calling it the agenda of RSS. However, it is a fact that a large number of Muslim youths from Kerala go to join the Islamic State (ISIS) and other terrorist organizations.
However, regarding this film, CM Pinarayi Vijayan has said that issues like love jihad have been rejected by the courts, investigative agencies and even the Union Home Ministry. CM Vijayan said that prima facie the trailer of the Hindi film appears to be 'deliberately produced' with the alleged objective of spreading communal polarization and hatred against the state. He alleged that despite this, Kerala has been shown as the main base of the film to humiliate the state in front of the world.
Issuing a statement, the Chief Minister said that such propaganda films and the hatred towards Muslims shown in them should be seen in the context of the Sangh Parivar's efforts to gain political mileage in Kerala. He also directly accused the Sangh Parivar of trying to destroy religious harmony in Kerala and 'sowing poisonous seeds of communalism'.
