The protests began after reports emerged that a male attendant at a Badlapur school allegedly sexually abused two young girls aged three and four. The incident, which reportedly occurred in the school toilet, prompted outrage among local residents. The accused was apprehended on August 17, following a formal complaint filed by the children’s parents.
In response to the public outcry, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has instructed the police to charge the accused with attempted rape. The case will be expedited with a special public prosecutor appointed to ensure swift justice.
