To ensure smooth travel and manage the festive rush during Diwali and Chhath Puja, the Western Railway (WR) has temporarily suspended platform ticket sales at six major stations in Gujarat. The stations impacted by this decision are:

  • Ahmedabad (Kalupur)
  • Sabarmati
  • Asarwa
  • Vadodara
  • Bharuch
  • Chhayapuri

Purpose of the Ban
From October 27 to November 6, only passengers with valid travel tickets will be permitted to access the platforms. This measure is designed to:

  • Reduce congestion
  • Streamline passenger movement
  • Ensure safer journeys
  • Exemptions for Vulnerable Passengers

To accommodate those in need, WR has exempted senior citizens and passengers with medical requirements from the platform ticket restriction. This thoughtful approach ensures that individuals who may require additional assistance can still access the platforms without inconvenience.

Duration of Restrictions
While the platform ticket ban will be in effect until November 6 for Ahmedabad division stations, Vadodara, Bharuch, and Chhayapuri stations will extend the restriction until November 10.

Focus on Passenger Experience
WR's main goal is to provide a stress-free and enjoyable travel experience during the festive season. By controlling platform congestion, the railway authorities aim to:

  • Ensure smooth passenger movement
  • Maintain safety standards
  • Enhance the overall travel experience
  • Additional Measures Implemented

In addition to the ticket ban, WR will:

  • Monitor passenger flow
  • Provide real-time updates
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene
  • Commitment to Passenger Welfare

The temporary suspension of platform ticket sales highlights WR's dedication to passenger welfare. This proactive measure underscores the railway's commitment to effectively managing peak travel periods, ensuring a pleasant and hassle-free journey for all. As the festive season unfolds, WR's initiatives contribute to a sense of order and tranquility, allowing passengers to celebrate with peace of mind.
