Rudraprayag: In a significant development, the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has enforced a complete prohibition on photography and videography within the sacred premises of Kedarnath Temple. The committee has taken this stern measure to preserve the sanctity of the revered site.

To ensure compliance, warning signs have been prominently displayed throughout the temple premises, cautioning visitors about the strict prohibition on capturing images or videos. Anyone found in violation of this rule will face legal action. Additionally, CCTV cameras will be closely monitoring the premises to deter any unauthorized photography or videography attempts.

Ajay Ajendra, the President of Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee, emphasized the significance of modest attire for pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham. These guidelines have been issued in response to past incidents of inappropriate behavior. Ajay Ajendra stated, "We urge all pilgrims to dress modestly. Regrettably, in the past, some individuals have been caught engaging in indecent photography and filming within the temple."

The temple committee decided to impose this ban after certain pilgrims engaged in objectionable conduct, causing misunderstanding and tarnishing the temple's reputation. To ensure the guidelines are strictly adhered to, warning boards have been prominently installed in Kedarnath.

Recently, a viral video showed a girl proposing to her boyfriend near Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand. In response to this incident, the Shri Badarinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) wrote to the Kedarnath Dham Police, requesting a ban on video recordings in the temple vicinity. The BKTC urged the authorities to closely monitor the area surrounding the temple and take necessary actions against individuals creating YouTube shorts, videos, or Instagram reels, aiming to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

The girl's proposal video garnered substantial attention on social media, sparking a debate among internet users. Prompted by this incident, the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee took a firm stance, stressing that creating videos or reels on the temple premises negatively impacts the religious sanctity of the revered place. The committee has urged the police to take stringent action against individuals involved in such activities, safeguarding the temple's sanctity and spiritual ambiance.
