Savitribai Phule Pune University today announced the postponement of all online and offline exams to be conducted on 15th October. The information has been issued by the university in view of the situation like heavy rains and floods arising. According to the official update released shortly before the official portal, on October 14, heavy rains had caused flood-like conditions.
A cyclone alert has been issued by the Municipal corporation for 15th October today along with heavy rains. Therefore, keeping in view the security and possible inconvenience to the students, the university administration has decided to cancel the online and offline exams scheduled for October 15 today. The SPPU in its update informed about the release of the new program for these canceled examinations shortly.
The final year examinations for various courses at Savitribai Phule Pune University and in various degree colleges concerned were started from 12th October. However, the examinations for some courses were announced to be postponed by the Exam department on 17th October due to technical difficulty. 2.5 lakh students are to be involved in the SPPU examinations. According to media reports, voice Chancellor Nitin Karmakar had informed that students who would not be able to give online exams would be given an opportunity to join the exam again.
