Mumbai: Actress Shweta Tripathi, known for her powerful roles, is all set for the release of Yeh Kaali Kaali Aakhein Season 2. Reflecting on her character's journey, Shweta revealed how the story explores the transformative nature of love – a force that can both uplift and consume a person.
In the highly anticipated second season, Shweta reprises her role as Shikha, a character whose path takes an intense turn. She shared her thoughts on the role, saying, “The show really asks the question, ‘How far would you go for love?’ This season, Shikha embarks on a journey where love pushes her boundaries, and I think it will resonate deeply with the audience. Shikha shows both vulnerability and strength, and finding that balance has been thrilling to portray.”
As Shikha’s world falls apart when her true love, Vikrant, marries Purva, she is left feeling lost and hopeless. Shweta explained that her character, originally timid and fearful of confrontation, faces a significant shift this season. "Shikha decides to fight for her love, something she never imagined doing before. It's a powerful transformation."
In this season, Shikha’s character evolves beyond romance, prompting viewers to reconsider their ideas of love, sacrifice, and personal boundaries. Shweta, reflecting on her past roles, noted, “I’ve played characters driven by anger or revenge, but this story shows how love, while beautiful, can also be overwhelming and consuming."
The actress finds it refreshing to portray a character motivated by passion rather than darker emotions. “Shikha’s journey shows that love can be empowering yet terrifying,” she added.
Yeh Kaali Kaali Aakhein Season 2, written and directed by Sidharth Sengupta, also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Aanchal Singh, and Gurmeet Choudhary. The show is set to release on Netflix on November 22.
