A state govt. teacher was detained by police in Tripura's Khowai district on the day of Saraswati Puja for allegedly molesting a student.
"The accused teacher has already been detained," SDPO Khowai Nirdesh Deb said all about the incident. Initially, the victim's family members did not register a complaint. The culprit was detained soon after the information reached the police. The case is currently being investigated further."
According to sources, the accused teacher, identified as Soumen Chowdhury, stopped the girl on her way home from school after celebrating Saraswati Puja at Bharat Sardar Para Higher Secondary School. The girl was grabbed by the accused, according to the parents.
"When she returned home, she didn't say anything to us." She, on the other hand, was not behaving properly. "She even attempted suicide," one of her relatives said. The accused teacher was earlier employed at the victim's school and has been transferred to another school in Kailashahar, Unakoti district.
