The Police officials of Meghalaya has arrested seven juveniles between the age of 11 to 16 in their relation in the rape case of 10-year-old minor girl. In Mawten, South West Khasi Hills district she was raped twice by accused.

First time she was raped on Christmas day while second time on 13 January. SP Herbert G Lyngdoh Said “All the accused and the victim belong to the same village. They were arrested after the girl told her family about the rapes recently and her father lodged an FIR on Saturday”.

The police has registered a rape case under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and further investigation is going on. All the accused have been sent to the Juvenile home while the victim is sent to hospital for the medical examination.
