Agartala: On Sunday, authorities in Tripura reported the arrest of seven individuals—five Bangladeshis and two Rohingyas—who entered the state without valid documents. Following a tip-off, Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel detained two individuals at Agartala station on Friday. During questioning, the detainees, identified as Ramzan Ali and Azida Begum, revealed they were residents of the Cox's Bazar Rohingya camp in Bangladesh.

They had crossed the international border and intended to travel to Kolkata by train, according to Agartala GRP Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tapas Das. In a separate incident on Saturday, five Bangladeshi nationals and two suspected Indian accomplices were arrested in Dhalai district.

The Bangladeshi detainees are from Moulvibazar and Sylhet districts. The Border Security Force (BSF) reported that the Bangladeshis entered India without proper documentation, while the two Indian suspects are believed to have been involved in facilitating their illegal entry.
