Lucknow: The double murder in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, caused panic. An elderly couple sleeping in the house here was murdered by slitting their throats. However, the cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained. After receiving information about the murder, higher officials inspected the spot. In this case, the sister-in-law of the deceased has given an application against unknown people on charges of murder. Police have seized the body of the couple from the spot and sent it for post-mortem. Police forces of many police stations have been deployed to maintain peace on the spot.
Baldev Verma (72) and his wife Vidya Devi (70), residents of Fidai Ganeshpur in the Hanswar police station area, lived alone in their house. Like every day, the couple was sleeping in their house after eating late last Friday evening. On Saturday morning, the throat-slit bodies of Baldev and his wife Vidya Devi were found lying in a pool of blood on the bed in their house. When there was no sound from the house till late in the morning, their neighbors reached the house, and they were shocked to see the scene there.
They immediately raised an alarm and gathered the people around and informed the police. On receiving the information, station house officer Pramod Singh along with the police force reached the spot and informed the higher officials. After inspecting the spot, the SP gave necessary directions to the concerned to disclose the double murder. In this regard, CO Santosh Kumar said that on the application of the deceased's sister-in-law, a case of murder has been registered against unknown people and the body of the couple has been sent for post-mortem. Several aspects are being investigated to reveal the case. Fingerprints have also been taken from the spot.
