New Delhi: Section 144 has been imposed in Noida till August 30 to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in view of upcoming festivals. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Shraddha Pandey has informed that section 144 has been imposed in Gautam Budh Nagar district in view of the possibility of prevention of the spread of infection and breach of peace by anti-social elements in view of major festivals like Sawan, Shivratri, Bakrid, Independence Day, Muharram, Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami in July and August.
He said that all activities other than medical services and essential services will be restricted in the prohibited area. Any social, political, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious festival activities, and other meetings will not take place without prior permission. The presence of a maximum of 50 persons at the wedding ceremony will be valid. Metros, buses, and cabs will operate with a capacity of 50 percent.
He said, two persons along with the driver in the auto, three persons including the driver in the battery e-rickshaw, and four persons in the four-wheeler will not be able to sit. Pandey said more than 50 devotees will not be able to visit places of religion except forbidden areas at one place at a time. Only 50 percent of the people will be allowed to come inside malls, restaurants, and hotels five days a week from 7 am to 9 pm.
