Panaji: Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar addressed the meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Panaji, Goa on Friday (May 5). In the SCO summit, S Jaishankar strongly raised the issue of terrorism. He made it clear in front of all SCO member countries including Pakistan, China that India will not tolerate terrorism from across the border. Jaishankar said that we all have to fight terrorism together. Terrorism has still not been defeated. Fighting terrorism is our top priority.
Jaishankar further said, 'As SCO President, we have started an unprecedented association with SCO observers and dialogue partners by inviting them to participate in more than 14 socio-cultural events.' Keeping India's side on terrorism, he said, 'Terrorism is still not taking the name of stopping. But we firmly believe that there can be no justification for terrorism. It must be stopped in all its forms and manifestations including cross border terrorism. Combating terrorism is one of the core mandates of the SCO.
Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar said without naming Pakistan, 'Even when the whole world was fighting the Corona epidemic, the threat of terrorism continued unabated, including cross-border terrorism.' Let us inform that, earlier, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar warmly welcomed the Foreign Ministers of Russia, India, China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan who arrived for the meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Panaji.
