An IndiGo flight traveling from Nagpur to Kolkata made an emergency landing at Raipur airport on Thursday morning, November 14, 2024, after a bomb threat was reported. The flight, carrying 187 passengers and six crew members, was diverted to Raipur following the alert, police said.
The threat was received by airport authorities, prompting immediate action. Raipur’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Santosh Singh, confirmed the aircraft had been redirected to Chhattisgarh’s capital after taking off from Nagpur.
The flight landed safely in Raipur just after 9 am and was directed to an isolation bay for security checks. The technical team and bomb squad immediately began a thorough inspection of the aircraft, the police official said.
This incident comes amid rising concerns over hoax bomb threats. Last month, at least 410 flights, both domestic and international, were affected by similar threats, most of which were made through social media channels.
